As part of its ongoing pursuit of academic excellence, Sorsogon State University’s (SorSU) Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering (BSECE) Program underwent a joint hybrid evaluation by the Commission on Higher Education-Technical Committee (CHED-TC) and the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on May 21, 2025, in the Conference Room of the College of Engineering and Architecture in Baribag, Sorsogon City. Before the official evaluation, the team paid a courtesy call to SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus.
The activity formally commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus). This was followed by a Statement of Purpose delivered by Engr. Geronimo A. Buenavente, PhD (CHED ROV Representative).
The core of the visit involved a documentation review and assessment conducted by Engr. Geronimo A. Buenavente, PhD, Engr. Keith Marlon R. Tabal, MSc ECE (CHED RQAT Member), Engr. Enrico Claro R. Delmoro, PECE (Technical Committee for ECE), and Mr. Bryan Uy (CHED Central Office Representative).
During the exit conference, Engr. Buenavente and Engr. Tabal presented the evaluation team’s feedback, including insights, commendations, and recommendations intended to further enhance the quality and effectiveness of the BSECE program. The evaluation concluded with words of gratitude from Engr. Rufo D. Durian III (Dean, College of Engineering and Architecture).
The assessment was attended by key SorSU officials, including Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Jenet B. Fuentes (Director, Quality Assurance), Mr. Jaymark Samson (Head, Program Development & Standards), along with other focal personnel.
