The Batuan Food Enterprise of BS Entrepreneurship students of the College of Business & Management Education of Sorsogon State University – Bulan Campus won the Bicol Intercollegiate Young Farmers Challenge 2024.
The enterprise will receive a grant of PhP250,000.00 as start-up capital for their proposed product ‘Batwasim’, a powdered souring agent made from pure batuan fruit that can be used as an ingredient for soups, stews and more.
The team is composed of Ms. Julie Ann G. Morona, Rina O. Frac, Diana S. Madulid, and Jerom P. Febrero, with their adviser, Dr. Diana V. Sales.
They will represent the Bicol Region as student-agripreneurs at the national level, where they can additional capital of PhP500,000.00.
