Former UPLB VCAA and now SorSU consultant Dr. Ables, Jr. donates books to University Library

Dr. Higino A. Ables, Jr., the Former University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs from 1979 to 1985, donated a diverse collection of reading materials to Sorsogon State University (SorSU) University Library, represented by Ms. Laura P. Brioso (School Librarian I).

The donation included a variety of books aimed at supplementing the learning resources available to University Library clientele, to wit:

Dr. Ables, Jr. has also held positions as the Deputy Director for Administration at the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and Interim Training Director at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI).


A proud Sorsoganon, Dr. Ables, Jr. currently serves as a consultant for SorSU, providing technical review and advisory services on the research programs and endeavors of the institution. He also assists in crafting SorSU’s policy on innovation and research, ensuring adherence to international standards.
