The Cyber Security Society of the Philippines, Inc. – Bicol Region Chapter (CyberSocPH-BRC) conducted CYBERSOCPH Level 2.0 on July 16-17, 2026, at the SorSU Dormtel, Sorsogon City Campus, to enhance cybersecurity preparedness and promote safe and responsible digital practices.
With the theme, “Securing The Future: Strengthening Regional Readiness in Cybersecurity,” the two-day conference focused on emerging digital threats, cybersecurity risk management, cybercrime prevention, and the responsible use of technology.
The program began with a welcome message from Prof. Jay G. Cantonjos (Dean, Veritas College of Irosin), followed by inspirational messages from SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, Rev. Fr. Gerico T. Pangilinan (President, Veritas College of Irosin) and Dr. Elizaldy Duran (Founder, CyberSocPh).
In her message, President De Jesus emphasized the increasing need for organizations to protect critical data, digital resources, and virtual identities from malicious intrusion, theft, and disinformation. She stressed that strengthening cybersecurity requires continuous learning and greater awareness of the measures needed to safeguard digital assets against online threats.
The conference included sessions on Cybercrime Awareness, Cybercrime Prevention Tips; Think Like a Risk Manager: Cybersecurity Beyond Technology; Secure By Design, and Cyberforensics. The discussions provided participants with knowledge and insights to help improve cybersecurity practices in their respective organizations.
Representatives from Sorsogon State University (SorSU), other state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the Bicol Region, government agencies, and local government units (LGUs) participated in the conference.
