February 13, 2025, Thursday:
The SorSU Environmental Sustainability Management Committee conducted an Inter-Campus Visit and Dialogue, and Presentation of Infrastructure Plan of Magallanes Campus aligned with the approved LUDIP. The team was headed by Ar./Enp Garner Ted Olavere, Dr. Luisita Gegajo, Project Management Officer, Dr. Christopher Jaramiel, Engr. Juliene Marie Janer, and Prof. Saturnino Carranza. Also present were SorSU personnel, students and representatives from Barangay Aguada Norte headed by Kgd. Roman M. Honrubia, Kgd. Syrill Rilles and Barangay secretary Jhona Beth Aringo. The discussion was also focused on awareness, education, and involvement of stakeholders as the university aims to serve as an example in leading its advocacy on ecological management, practices and sustainability towards a cleaner and greener environment.

Meanwhile, The BS Entrepreneurship NSTP students organized a transformative Sex Education Seminar as part of their NSTP 2 Enrichment Class at the Post-Harvest Facility this Valentine’s Day, The seminar aimed to foster open-mindedness and comfort in discussing a vital yet often overlooked topic, including the specific names of body parts and sought to educate students about the risks associated with unsafe sex, dispelling myths, and addressing questions that may arise. Additionally, the seminar worked to raise awareness of the pressing issue of teenage pregnancy in the country. Organized by the dedicated NSTP Class Officers, alongside their NSTP Implementer, Mr. Michael H. Galapon, and the Health Professional Speaker and Campus Nurse, Ms. Rachell Ann C. Diaz. This event is part of a series of workshops designed to empower students in addressing social issues that impact the nation.
The event was concluded with Valentine’s Day celebration by the students and SorSU personnel with the Supreme Student Council headed by Manuel Silencio. Also the BS Marine Biology Searenade Organization belting lovely tunes for everyone. Other school-based organizations also participated in the celebration.
