SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus attended the budget hearing for the proposed Fiscal Year 2025 expenditure program for the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), on November 19, 2024, at the Senate of the Philippines, Pasay City, Manila.
Based on available data for Fiscal Year 2025, CHED has a proposed budget of Php 30.1 billion, and SUCs (including UP) at Php 113.7 billion.
As an advocate for educational excellence, Dr. De Jesus has been instrumental in ensuring the university receives the necessary funding to support its academic programs and improve infrastructure. During the hearing, discussions centered on the proposed funding requirements for CHED and SUCs to sustain their educational mandates and continued development.
