On March 6, 2025, the Governing Board of Regents (BOR) of Sorsogon State University (SorSU) convened for its regular quarterly meeting at Marikina Polytechnic College in Marikina, Metro Manila.
The meeting, presided over by CHED Commissioner Dr. Ethel Agnes Pascua Valenzuela, was attended by key members of the SorSU Board of Regents, including SorSU President and Vice Chairperson of the Board, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, as well as Regent Senator Alan Peter S. Cayetano, represented by Hon. Evelina G. Escudero; Alumni Regent Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort; Faculty Regent Dr. Perry F. Carpio; and Student Regent Manuel V. Selencio, Jr.
Also present were Hon. Marie Bernadette “Dette” G. Escudero, 1st District Representative of Sorsogon Province, representing Regent Congressman Mark O. Go; Regent NEDA Regional Director Edna Cynthia S. Berces; Regent DOST Regional Director Rommel R. Serrano; and Regent DA Regional Director Rodel P. Tornilla, who joined the proceedings via online conference.

During the BOR meeting, President De Jesus presented the accomplishment report for the first quarter of 2025. Additionally, Manuel Selencio was sworn in as the newest member of the Board of Regents, with CHED Commissioner Pascua administering the oath.
The meeting highlighted the university’s commitment to maintaining a transparent academic environment, where both academic leaders and students play vital roles in shaping the future of SorSU. (SorSU PIO)
