Sorsogon State University-Castilla Campus Holds Recognition Day, Celebrates Student Achievements

Sorsogon State University-Castilla Campus recently held its Recognition Day last June 4, 2024, at the SorSU Castilla Campus Grounds. The event celebrated the remarkable achievements of students in its various programs: Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA), Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT), and Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness (BSAB).

Themed “Exemplifying Professionalism and Versatility in an Era of Connectivity: A Challenge to SorSuenos,” the ceremony highlighted the students’ academic excellence and their ability to adapt to the evolving landscape of education. The occasion commenced with a warm welcome by Prof. Andrew F. Detera, SorSU Castilla Campus Director, who expressed his gratitude to the parents for being present during this momentous occasion and extended warm congratulations to the academic awardees.


Prof. Ma. Crisanta M. Jarque, SorSU Student Development Services Director, delivered an inspiring message which inspired the students to persevere and continue their pursuit of excellence.


The event featured the recognition of students’ hard work and commitment through the presentation of awards. Service and Leadership Awards were bestowed by campus coordinators, including Prof. Achilles G. Honasan (DRRM-CC Coordinator), Mr. John Hermel Meneses (Scholarship Coordinator), Ms. Michelle Morante (Student Council Affairs Coordinator), and Ms. Marianne Miranda (Sports, Culture, and Arts Coordinator).


Academic Awards were presented by campus officials: Prof. Andrew F. Detera (SorSU Castilla Campus Director), Dr. Rochele N. Aragon (Dean, College of Agriculture), Ms. Rosalie Ballatan-Gabito (Campus Registrar), Mr. Jerome B. Llabres (BSA Program Chairperson), Mr. Jobert C. Arcilla (BAT Program Chairperson), Ms. Mary Ann P. Caro (BSAB Program Chairperson), and Prof. Ma. Crisanta M. Jarque (SorSU SDS Director).
A highlight of the ceremony was the Words of Gratitude delivered by Mr. Kean Erick Ganza, representing the awardees and sharing an inspirational message on their behalf.


Dr. Rochele N. Aragon, the Dean of the College of Agriculture, concluded the event with closing remarks, acknowledging the efforts of all the working committees involved in the success of the Recognition Day program. Dr. Aragon also commended the students for their dedication and hard work, marking the occasion as a significant milestone in their academic journey.
