Sorsogon State University (SorSU) continues to advance its commitment to capacity building with the successful conduct of the Digital Skills Enhancement Training for Non-Teaching Staff (Batch 1) on April 24, 25, 29, and May 14, 2025, and (Batch 2) on May 8, 9, 15, and 16, 2025, at the SorSU Dormtel in Sorsogon City. Spearheaded by the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO), the four-day training aimed to strengthen the digital proficiency of SorSU’s non-teaching personnel.
The training program began with a welcome message from Dr. Ma. Sylisa J. Estur (Chief Administrative Officer, Administrative Division). Dr. Rey C. Rodrigueza (Associate Professor V) started the Day 1 session with a discussion on File Management using both the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the Command Line Interface (CLI). He explained the fundamental components of a computer system and covered topics including the use of the DIR command, navigating command prompts, document automation, word language translation, tracking changes, and editing tools.
Day 2 was focused on Microsoft Word, facilitated by Mr. Homer G. Fuentes (Instructor 1), who presented essential features and tools to enhance document creation and formatting. Day 3 was centered on Microsoft Excel, with Mr. Richard G. Rabulan (Instructor 1) providing instructions on spreadsheet management, formula application, and data organization. On Day 4, Mr. Jopet Vincent B. Medalla (Instructor 1) introduced creative tools through Microsoft PowerPoint and Canva for creating engaging presentations and visual content using both platforms.
The training concluded with a closing message from Dr. Ma. Lourdes G. Barrozo (Supervising Administrative Officer-Administrative Division), who commended the participants for their engagement and encouraged the continuous development of digital competencies in the workplace.
