Sorsogon State University honors CELE passers for impressive performance

Sorsogon State University (SorSU) held a Recognition Ceremony on December 17, 2024, at the SorSU AV Hall, Sorsogon City Campus, to honor the sixty-three (63) newly licensed civil engineers who achieved an impressive overall passing rate of 60% in the 2024 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination (CELE), surpassing the national passing percentage (NPP) of 37.07%.

The ceremony began with opening remarks from Engr. Rufo Durian III who expressed his congratulations to the newly minted CELE passers. SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, and Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort delivered inspirational messages, celebrating the passers’ achievements and motivating them as they embark on their professional careers.


An intermission number by Ms. Alyssa Dawn Alindogan followed before Engr. Rod Lenard Grutas, Engr. Kacy Mendizabal, Engr. Jan Vincent Taladtad and Engr. Romeo Labitag Jr. shared their messages of gratitude, acknowledging the support of faculty, family members, and the Pamantasang May Puso in helping them reach this significant milestone.


The highlight of the program was the formal recognition of the CELE passers led by Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, Dr. Jhonner Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Telesforo Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus), Engr. Rufo D. Durian III (Dean, College of Engineering and Architecture) and Engr. Eric Floresca (Program Chair, CE Department). The event concluded with remarks from Engr. Eric Floresca, who formally wrapped up the ceremony.


This recognition event was a celebration not only of the passers’ exceptional achievements but also of the collective effort and unwavering support of the entire SorSU community. (SorSU PIO)
