Organized by the Bicol Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (BCAARRD), the 1st Regional Research and Development Coordinating Council (RRDCC) Meeting for CY 2025 was hosted by Sorsogon State University through its Research, Extension, and Training Office (SorSU-RET) on February 4, 2025 at the SorSU Dormtel, Sorsogon City Campus.
The meeting officially began with opening remarks from outgoing RRDCC Chairperson Dr. Alberto N. Naperi. Dr. Lester M. Narvaez (BCAARRD Consortium Director) acknowledged attendees before approving the minutes from the previous meeting. Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III (President, Bicol University) was named incoming Chairperson of the RRDCC, and SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus was unanimously elected Vice Chairperson for 2025-2027.
The Pamantasang May Puso reaffirms its commitment to strengthening regional research collaboration. By actively engaging in this initiative, the university aims to enhance its involvement in regional symposia and advance the collective growth and development of the region.
Present at the event were Regional Director Edna Cynthia S. Berces (NEDA V), Dr. Arnel B. Millesca (President, Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology), Dr. Alex H. Navarroza (President, Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology), Dr. Marlo M. Dela Cruz (President, Camarines Norte State College), and Dr. Arnel B. Zarcedo (President, Partido State University), Dr. Roberto B. Barba, Jr. (OIC-President, Catanduanes State University), and Engr. Sandro B. Noguera (Planning Officer, DOST ROV), alongside distinguished guests and representatives from partner agencies.
