In full compliance with the minimum requirements set forth in CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 14, s. 2019, titled “Policies and Guidelines in the Issuance of Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs),” Sorsogon State University – Magallanes Campus has been officially granted a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) by the Commission on Higher Education – Regional Office V (CHED-ROV) for the following programs:
COPC No. 34, s. 2025
Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) Program
Under CMO No. 74, s. 2017, effective Academic Year (AY) 2025-2026
COPC No. 35, s. 2025
Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Program, Major in Science
Under CMO No. 75, s. 2017, effective Academic Year (AY) 2025-2026
The four-year BEEd Program, as outlined in CMO No. 74, s. 2017, is designed to provide students with the academic foundation and practical training needed to become effective elementary school teachers for Grades 1-6. The program also prepares students for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
Similarly, the BSEd Program, under CMO No. 75, s. 2017, is aimed at equipping students to teach science at the secondary level. The program emphasizes the development of a deep understanding of scientific concepts, principles, and methodologies, along with their application in teaching and learning. Graduates of the program are also prepared for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
The awarding of the COPC to these two programs represents a major achievement for Sorsogon State University – Magallanes Campus. It signifies that the university’s academic offerings meet the rigorous standards set by the Commission on Higher Education, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to delivering quality education that prepares students for successful careers in education.
