SorSU Accreditation Task Force, Working Committees convene for AACCUP Online Program Accreditation Exit Conference and Closing Program for BS Entrepreneurship

As a concluding activity for the five-day 1st Survey Visit Online Program Accreditation for the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), headed by Dr. Kenneth L. Armas (Team Leader, AACCUP Inc. Team), an Exit Conference and Closing Program was held via hybrid mode at the SorSU Board Room (for in-person) and online through Zoom Meeting last December 11-15, 2023.

Sorsogon State University President Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus together with Dr. Errol G. De Castro (Head, Program and Institutional Accreditation); Dr. Maria Luisa P. Mirasol (Dean, College of Business and Management); Mr. Anthony L. Madrazo (QA Coordinator, Sorsogon City Campus); Ms. Erlinda P. Enguerra (SorSU University Librarian); CBM Faculty Members: Ms. Cristy D. Docdocos (Program Chair, BS-Entrepreneurship), Prof. Roman Julio B. Infante (Program Chair, BS-Accountancy), Prof. Ma. Gina J. Mendones, Prof. Jezzabie G. Gamis, Mr. Jakim Timothy F. Golimlim, Ms. Lyka G. Gipanao; SorSU-Quality Assurance Office Personnel, Mr. Michael G. Gallon & Mr. Daniel T. Llanera; other SorSU officials and personnel were in attendance at the SorSU Board Room.

In his overall impression, AACUUP Inc. Team Leader Dr. Armas presented key points, strengths and areas for improvement as he delivered his message. “SorSU is commended in its dedicated effort in providing comprehensive and quality driven Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship Program, the program reflects a strong strategic direction with an established Mission, Vision and clear goals. There is evidence of proactive engagement to stakeholders, and commitment to continuous improvement…The administration is commendable for showing high competence and commitment to provide the highest standards of service”. Further, observations and suggestions were also presented to the working committee.

Dr. De Jesus extended her appreciation and gratitude to the efforts made by the panel of accreditors as she shared her message of acceptance and pledge of commitment. “I am overwhelmed by your positive commendations to our university and I assure you also that all your recommendations will be acted upon, because I believe, in our SorSU team, we are always united in activities like this…Dahil sa Pamantasang may Puso, lahat po ay susuportahan at walang maiiwanan.”

After the response, a performance from the university’s “Instrumentos de Cordo” led and conducted by Ms. Shane Kate A. Gozo (Faculty, College of Technology) was presented. This was followed by a virtual presentation of Certificate of Recognition to the Accreditors.
Further, Dr. Maria Luisa P. Mirasol expressed her gratitude to the SorSU administration and staff, for the hard work and support displayed throughout the accreditation process. She also acknowledged the AACCUP Accreditation team and said that they were a cornerstone in the continuous pursuit of academic excellence. She said, “Your valuable insights have illuminated our path, inspiring us to refine and elevate our program to new heights. For us, the accreditation process has been a reflective journey, prompting us to assess, innovate, and adapt in order to meet the dynamic demands of the entrepreneurial landscape.”

She added that the department will await the results and recommendations for the further improvement of the BS Entrepreneurship Program, “The commitment to continuous improvement is ingrained in our ethos, and your guidance reinforces our resolve…We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to further enhance our BS Entrepreneurship program and continue shaping the next generation of innovative and resilient entrepreneurs.” (SorSU PIO)
