The Sorsogon State University Career and Job Placement/ILDO Unit, under the Office of Student Development and Services (OSDS), hosted a two-day Parents & Students Orientation for On-The-Job Training (OJT) and Consultative Meeting from October 28-29, 2024, at the SorSU Audio-Visual Hall, Sorsogon City Campus. The theme “From Concept to Reality: Navigating the Deployment Journey,” underscored the university’s commitment to preparing students for their career paths.
The event kicked off with opening remarks from Dr. Orlando D. Doncillo (Dean, College of Technology). Following this, Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus) delivered a message emphasizing the importance of practical training in students’ career development.
Mr. Dexter G. Aurelio (ILDO Coordinator, Sorsogon City Campus) discussed OJT Policies and Regulations, covering the application process as well as pre-and post-requirements. This information was crucial for parents and students to understand the expectations and procedures involved in the OJT program.
In addition, Prof. Lelanie L. Berjuega (ILDO Head, Sorsogon City Campus) addressed participants’ queries, providing insights into company linkages, the OJT fee, and the plans of the ILDO. The event also included an OJT 2023-2024 Company Monitoring Video Presentation, showcasing successful partnerships and placements that highlight the program’s effectiveness.
Prof. Maria Crisanta M. Jarque (OSDS Director, Sorsogon City Campus), gave the closing remarks and reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of Student Development and Services to support students in their professional journeys.
