SorSU Castilla Campus breaks ground for new Administration Building

Sorsogon State University Castilla Campus marked a significant milestone on July 9, 2024, with the groundbreaking ceremony for its new Administration Building. Under the leadership of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, the construction of the Administration Building will finally commence.

The event began with welcome remarks from Mr. Gerald E. Fulay, JD (Vice President for Administration and Finance). Subsequently, Hon. Marie Bernadette “Dette” Escudero (Representative, 1st District of Sorsogon), alongside Mr. Reynaldo Marchan (SB Secretary, LGU Castilla), and Hon. Alvin Camacho (Punong Barangay, BLGU Mayon), delivered insightful messages emphasizing their shared vision for the university’s future growth.

Once again, the Sorsogon State University (SorSU) expresses its deepest gratitude to Hon. Escudero for consistently supporting and selecting the university as one of the recipients of her infrastructure development programs. Indeed, her continued expression of support is instrumental to the welfare and holistic development of the SorSUenos, as well as the improvement of the institution itself.

Attended by local government officials and key university figures, the ceremonial groundbreaking marked the official start of the construction. Following the ceremonial use of a shovel, a time capsule was buried beneath the ground. Prof. Andrew F. Detera (Campus Director-Castilla Campus) delivered closing remarks, expressing gratitude and highlighting the university’s commitment to continuous improvement. (SorSU PIO)
