The Sorsogon State University (SorSU) ushered in the holiday season with a vibrant and festive Christmas celebration through its “Salubong sa Kapaskuhan” activity held last December 6, 2022, at the SorSU Covered Court and grounds.
The university community gathered to enjoy a heartwarming performance by the SorSU Dance Theatre and Cultural Group (DCTG) of Pastores de Belen, a traditional theatrical portrayal of the shepherds’ adoration of the Christ child. This timeless presentation, known as Shepherds of Bethlehem in Spanish, captured the spirit of Christmas with its rich cultural roots.
The performance featured performers dressed in voluminous skirts adorned with arches full of flowers, while the men wore long-sleeved shirts, holding and swinging colorful parols and rhythmically striking tambourines. The bright display of lights, music, and dance brought a festive atmosphere to SorSU, spreading joy and holiday cheer throughout the university.
As the holiday season continues, SorSU wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
