Sorsogon State University (SorSU) conferred degrees upon 705 graduates from the Bulan Campus during its 33rd Commencement Exercises held on June 11, 2026, at the Sorsogon Convention Center, recognizing their successful completion of the requirements for graduation.

Centered on the theme, “Class of 2026: Values-Driven Workforce, Digitally Inclined Lifelong Learners,” the ceremony reflected the university’s dedication to preparing graduates with the knowledge, values, and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing digital environment.

SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, conferred academic degrees upon 705 graduates during the ceremony, celebrating the culmination of their years of study and preparation. Of the graduates, 74 completed the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, 253 in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, 100 in Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, 14 in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, 81 in Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System, 78 in Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, and 105 in Bachelor of Public Administration.

In a message to the graduating class, Atty. Alizedney M. Ditucalan, LL. D. (Chancellor, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology), inspired the graduates with reflections on resilience and perseverance.

He said, “A milestone can tell you where you are, but it can’t tell you who you’re meant to become. And I am speaking by experience. Graduates, if failures can be milestones, then we must rethink what success really means. Success is not the absence of failure. It’s learning to keep moving forward with dignity, resilience, and purpose. Do not merely chase milestones. Walk your road well. Walk the thousand ordinary paces, where character is quietly forged. Walk the thousand small moments, where friendships grow into lifelong ones. Walk the thousand and remarkable days that slowly shape an extraordinary and meaningful life.”

Among the highlights of the ceremony was the recognition of outstanding graduates through the awarding of honors and medals. Diplomas were also presented to the graduates in recognition of the completion of their degree programs. Representing the graduating class, Ms. Ramona H. Saens, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of BS Information Technology, delivered the Words of Gratitude.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! Today, we honor your hard work and achievements. The university community joins in celebrating your success and extends its best wishes as you move forward with confidence, integrity, and a commitment to making a positive impact wherever life leads you. (SorSU PIO)
