SorSU Celebrates Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa with Traditional Filipino Dances

Sorsogon State University (SorSU) proudly participated in this year’s Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa celebration, with the theme “Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya” (Filipino: A Language of Liberation). The event, held last August 30, 2024 at the SorSU Covered Court, showcased the university’s commitment to preserving and promoting Filipino culture through a series of traditional dance performances.

The program featured a vibrant display of Filipino heritage, including performances of Sinakiki, Sayaw sa Bangko, and Pantomina. These dances, rich in cultural significance, highlighted the beauty and artistry of the Philippines’ traditional movements and customs.

By performing these dances, SorSU Dance Theatre and Culture Group (DCTG) members not only celebrated Filipino language and culture but also reinforced the importance of preserving these traditions for future generations. The event served as a reminder of the value of cultural expression in fostering national pride and unity.

Through this celebration, SorSU continues to honor its heritage and plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of the Philippines’ unique traditions.
