Sorsogon State University (SorSU) continues its commitment to student welfare through its free breakfast initiative. On January 22, 2025, the university served beef and rice porridge to 313 students at the covered court, with the SorSU-Graduate School taking the lead in sponsoring the event.
The program aims to create a positive and supportive environment for students. By providing essential support like this, SorSU emphasizes its commitment to student welfare and reinforces its focus on the holistic development of its students.

The free breakfast event was made possible through the efforts of Dr. Susan S. Janer (Dean, Graduate School); Dr. Ritzelda A. Deri (Program Chair, PhD Math/MAED); Dr. Felisa D. Marbella (Program Chair, PhD Filipino); Dr. Sherill A. Gilbas (Program Chair, PhD Language Education); Dr. Ryan V. Dio (Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training); Dr. Vivien L. Chua (Director, IRO); Dr. Susan F. Astillero (GS Coordinator, Research and IRO) and the Graduate School Student Council, who provided on-site support and ensured the success of the initiative.
