The Parade of Lights in Sorsogon was a captivating spectacle, illuminating the streets with a vibrant array of illuminated floats and engaging characters. The event, conducted last December 17, 2022, united the entire community in a celebration of the Christmas spirit.
The parade showcased enormous floats embellished with brilliant lights, accompanied by the lively music of the SorSU Marching Band and the SorSU Dance Theatre and Cultural Group (DCTG), who performed a street dance rendition of Pastores de Belen, the traditional depiction of the shepherds’ adoration of the Christ child. The integration of colorful floats, festive music, and traditional dance fostered a magical atmosphere, infusing the streets with holiday cheer.
Enhancing the excitement, SorSU’s float was proclaimed the champion of the float competition, marking a significant achievement for the university. The institution’s exemplary performance in the parade underscored not only the essence of Christmas but also the pride and solidarity of the SorSU community.
