Sorsogon State University (SorSU) teaching and non-teaching personnel, students, and visitors of the Sorsogon City Campus actively joined the 2ndQuarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), spearheaded by the SorSU – Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (SorSU-DRRMO) under the leadership of Prof. Saturnino C. Carranza (Director, DRRMO) on June 28, 2024.
Supervised by Director Carranza, the drill was effectively managed by the Incident Management Team, led by Incident Commander, Mr. Mark Darrel A. Ergina (Campus Coordinator, DRRMO), and assisted by the team members. Particularly, the occupants of the Administration Building, Education Building, and Student Services Building were the participants of the event, who were successfully facilitated and ushered by the assigned safety officers, respectively.
Such drills are designed to improve the emergency preparedness skills of SorSU employees, students, as well as other stakeholders during earthquakes and other disaster-related occurrences. (SorSU PIO)
