With the aim to address key areas of SorSU – Graduate School (GS) to strengthen its overall quality services and impact both on national and international scales, Sorsogon State University – Graduate School, headed by Dr. Susan S. Janer (Dean, SorSU-GS), successfully spearheaded Graduate School: Workshops on Research Project Proposal, Strategic Planning and Team Building Initiatives for its faculty members, held from November 13-14, 2024, at the Casa de Apil, Monbon, Irosin, Sorsogon.
The workshop highlighted informative sessions, including Topic 1: GS Strategic Planning Initiatives by Dr. Catherine A. De Castro (Director, PLMO); Topic 2: Team Building Activities (such as Wellness Quest Bingo & Poncho of Praise) facilitated by Prof. Abner L. Dellosa (Head, HRMDO), which encouraged collaboration and positive environment among the participants; Topic 3: Research Proposal Preparation & Writing for External Funding led by Dr. Ryan V. Dio (Vice President for Research, Extension and Training), several workshop sessions, and presentation of outputs.
SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, likewise graced the activity and delivered the welcome remarks. Among the key GS faculty-participants were Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort (Vice President for Academic Affairs), VPRET Dio, Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus), and Dr. Susan S. Janer (Dean, SorSU-GS).
The event is designed to capacitate the GS faculty members with the essential skills to develop comprehensive research project proposals for external funding, optimize participants’ capability to craft actionable plans that align with long-term objectives, and establish a collaborative and supportive organizational culture that empowers collective goal attainment.
