SorSU-LHS creates history at GELOSEA National Round — seizes 3 diamond, 11 gold, 11 silver, & 5 bronze awards; all 30 LHS participating contestants qualify for the international round in Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Besting other top secondary institutions in the Philippines, all thirty (30) Sorsogon State University – Laboratory High School (SorSU-LHS) participating students outstandingly bagged awards in the recently-concluded Global English Language Olympiad of Southeast Asia (GELOSEA) National Round held online last November 02, 2023, which includes three (3) diamond awards, eleven (11) gold, (11) silver, and (five) 5 bronze awards — hence all 30 LHS students are qualifiers as part of the Philippine Team in the international round of the prestigious global competition, scheduled to take place in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, from April 28 – May 1, 2024.

As a point of reference, GELOSEA is an international competition in English for primary and secondary levels, which aims to foster excellence and proficiency in various aspects of the English language, such as reading comprehension, analogy, vocabulary and spelling, grammar and correct usage, and essay writing. Through friendly global competitions, the initiative also intends to promote tourism in Southeast Asia and expand to other partner countries worldwide. (SorSU PIO)
