SorSU-LHS excels at GELOSEA National Round — bags 4 diamonds, 17 golds, 14 silvers, & 6 bronzes; all 41 LHS participating students qualify for int’l round in South Korea

In another historic academic milestone, all forty-one (41) participating students from Sorsogon State University – Laboratory High School (SorSU-LHS) delivered exemplary performances in the recently-concluded Global English Language Olympiad of Southeast Asia (GELOSEA) – National Round, held online on November 24, 2024, where they competed against other premier secondary institutions nationwide, seizing a total of four diamonds, 17 golds, 14 silvers, and six bronzes — and impressively securing their spots as qualifiers for the international round as part of the Philippine Team, scheduled for April 2-5, 2025, in Incheon, South Korea.

GELOSEA, an international competition in English for primary and secondary levels, is designed to foster excellence and proficiency in various aspects of the English language, including reading comprehension, analogy, vocabulary and spelling, grammar and correct usage, and essay writing (for secondary levels) (Global League of Winners, Inc., n.d.).

The SorSU community is immensely proud of the outstanding achievements of the SorSU-LHS student-awardees! Likewise, the academe commends the students’ dedicated coaches: Prof. Christine D.
