Sorsogon State University concludes the 5-day Online Program Accreditation, October 9-13, 2023 by the Accredited Agency of Chartered Colleges and University of the Philippines (AACCUP) with the following curricular programs from Sorsogon City Campus: Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. From the Graduate School on its 1st Survey Visit of the following programs – Doctor of Education Major in Educational Leadership & Management, Doctor of Philosophy Major in Filipino, Doctor of Public Administration, and Master of Arts in Education Major in Science. Magallanes Campus is also on its Second Survey Visit of Bachelor of Elementary Education.
Timeline of Activities for Magallanes Campus:
Day 1. Monday – October 9, 2023
Opening Program – Online Presentation of SorSU Key Officials and Unit, Campus Officials and Task Force and presentation of AACCUP panel of accreditors. This was immediately followed by the briefing and validation activities by the AACCUP Team then browsing of pertinent documents. For Magallanes Campus, the accreditors was headed by Cluster II Coordinator Dr. Divinagracia M. De Guzman of Nueva Viscaya State University, Dr. Genesis G. Camarista of Wester Vizayas State University, Dr. Jewish A. Merin of Cebu Normal University, and Prof. Roberto Rodel R. Gonzales of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology.
Day 2: Tuesday – October 10, 2023
Browsing and evaluation of documents.
Day 3: Wednesday – October 11, 2023
Continuation of browsing and evaluation of documents. Virtual Tour of the school offices and facilities.
Day 4: Thursday – October 12, 2023
Validation of Findings. Virtual Class observation for major professional subject/s as well as virtual interview of faculty and staff, student leaders, interview of extension services beneficiaries, alumni, parents.
Day 5: Friday – October 13, 2023
Continuation of the Validation of Findings in the morning followed by Exit Conference in the afternoon.
