SorSU Magallanes Campus Faculty Attends a Hybrid Leadership Development Program

In January 11-13, 2023, Mr. Franklin P. Calaminos, Program Chair – Education and Entrepreneurship Department, together with Mr. Andrew E. Detera, Campus Director- Castilla Campus, participated on the face-to-face sessions of the Leadership Development Program for Higher Education Institutions in the Philippines at SEARCA Headquarters, Los Baños, Laguna. The first six sessions were conducted online via the SEARCA Online Learning and Virtual Engagement every Thursday last November 3 to December 9, 2022.

Under the Short-Term Training Programs component of the Leveling-Up Philippine Higher Education Institutions in Agriculture, Fisheries, and Natural Resources, it aims to raise the standard of Philippine HEIs and drive them towards enhanced relevance and competitiveness in the 21st century. It intends to engage participants in building their leadership and management capacities within the context of global challenges for needed better outcomes with respect to stronger academe-industry- government connectivity and curricular innovations that are in step with current needs and challenges of HEIs.

They would like to thank and congratulate the SEARCA’s Education and Collective Learning Department-Training for Development Unit and Management Information Systems Unit as well as the HEAD Foundation for the successful conduct of this hybrid training program. Also, special thanks to their resource speakers, Dr. Natarajan Varaprasad, Associate Professor Rebekah Lim, and Associate Professor Calvin Chan, for sharing their commendable expertise, guidance and time especially during the preparation and finalization of the Re-Entry Action Plan. Lastly, sincerest thanks to Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, University President, for giving them this great opportunity and for the full support to attend such leadership development program.
