SorSU Magallanes Campus Undergoes CHED-RQAT Monitoring to Strengthen Education Program Compliance

To ensure quality assurance and compliance with national standards, Sorsogon State University – Magallanes Campus underwent monitoring by the Commission on Higher Education – Regional Quality Assessment Team (CHED-RQAT) on April 3 and 4, 2025.

The RQAT Team, composed of CHED-accredited evaluators and experts, was led by Dr. Rose Marie A. Arao, CHED RO5 Education Supervisor II, and Dr. Lilinita C. Del Rosario, RQAT member. The team assessed the campus’s academic programs for alignment with CHED’s requirements, standards, and guidelines.

This monitoring visit is a key step in the university’s pursuit of the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC)—a CHED quality assurance mechanism that ensures academic programs meet national standards of higher education.

In particular, the university aims to further strengthen the Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science programs by aligning their curriculum, instruction, and operations with CHED’s policies and standards. This initiative reflects SorSU’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality education and enhancing the credibility and competitiveness of its teacher education programs.
