SorSU-NSTP Implementers complete three-day Standard First-Aid Training

To equip the SorSU-NSTP Implementers on training students for the Community Service Phase in relation to Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction Management (CBDRRM), Sorsogon State University – National Service Training Program (SorSU-NSTP) Implementers completed their three-day Standard First-Aid Training conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection R5, Sorsogon City under the leadership of FCINSP Eric A Caramoan last February 14-16, 2024, at the SorSU Social Hall, Sorsogon City Campus.

Day 1 of the training covered lectures on BFP Mandates, Introduction to First-Aid, Soft Tissue Injury, Musculoskeletal Injury, and Common Emergencies by SFO1 Michelle A. Lariosa and SFO2 Maricur G. Destajo, while the afternoon focused on Splinting and Bandaging headed by SCCFS Duty Operation Team B.

Meanwhile, the second day included Basic Life Support by FO1 Maria Gracia E. Corral and an Actual Demonstration by all BFP R5, Sorsogon City personnel in the afternoon session. Day 3 of the activity featured training on Lifting & Moving, Spine Board Management, and Extrication (Basic) by SRF Personnel, whereas the afternoon involved Actual Demonstration. The event culminated with a successful demonstration of Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) – Traffic Collision by BFP Personnel, which assessed the newly-acquired knowledge and skills of implementers to respond effectively to such incidents or similar circumstances.
