As part of the university’s broader mission to prepare officials to lead with foresight and responsibility, the Sorsogon State University-Planning Management Office (SorSU-PLMO) led by Dr. Catherine A. De Castro (Director, PLMO), organized the 2025 Planning and Budgeting Workshop on December 3-4, 2024, at Gamboa’s Orchard, San Jose, Malilipot, Albay.
The workshop formally began with Dr. Oscar Peter D. Pascual (Planning Coordinator, SorSU-Castilla Campus) and Dr. Susan F. Astillero (TWG, Graduate School) presenting the highlights from Day 1 of the Strategic Foresight and Leadership Initiative. This was followed by a presentation on the accomplishments achieved under the 2024 Annual Operational Plan.
Engr. Cindy D. Deocareza (Planning Officer III) introduced the 2025 Plan, which was developed in alignment with the Updated 2022-2026 Strategic Plan. Mrs. Gloria B. Despuig (Budget Officer III) subsequently presented the status of the 2024 and the proposed 2025 budgets, as outlined in the National Expenditure Program (NEP).
Additionally, Arch. Luisita F. Gegajo (Director, Project Management Office) followed with a presentation on the proposed infrastructure projects for 2025-2026, highlighting the planned developments and their expected impact. Ms. Janine D. Bitara (Planning Officer I) shared the institutional targets for 2025, while Engr. Ivy Rose G. Gonzales (Director, Research & Development) and Dr. Ana Cristina G. Fortes (Director, Extension & Training Services) outlined the research and extension targets for the same year. These presentations were followed by an open forum, allowing for discussion and clarification of key points.
Moreover, Mr. Roberto V. Guides (Director, Management Information System) and Mr. Darryl A. Tee (Information Technology Officer I) demonstrated the Document Management System. This was followed by a collaborative session on identifying the prioritized programs, activities, and projects for 2025 during the Annual Planning and Budgeting Workshop. In the evening, a social event was held, where attendees participated in a Hawaiian-themed gathering.
The program concluded with the presentation of the 2025 Annual Operational Plan for each campus and unit, followed by closing remarks from Mr. Abner L. Dellosa (Head, SorSU-HRMDO). Through its training initiatives, the Pamantasang May Puso, under the transformative leadership of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F.
