SorSU President conducts visits across campuses, appreciates the swift help following Tropical Storm “Kristine”

Sorsogon State University President, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus conducted visits across various campuses to assess the damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine”, which made landfall on October 23, 2024. Throughout her visits to the Magallanes Campus, Bulan Campus, and Castilla Campus, the president expressed deep appreciation for the quick and selfless actions of students, university officials, faculty, and staff in mobilizing resources and providing support in the wake of the disaster.

The devastation caused by Typhoon Kristine reached alarming levels, resulting in widespread flooding in Sorsogon. In response, the university community demonstrated remarkable solidarity by organizing fundraising drives, packing relief goods, distributing food items, and engaging in clean-up operations.

The unity displayed during this challenging time reflects the university’s commitment to supporting those in need, particularly during crises. This initiative not only provides immediate assistance but also emphasizes compassion and solidarity, and reminds us of our collective responsibility to help each other. (SorSU PIO)
