SorSU receives prestigious 2024 Agila Award for excellence

The Sorsogon State University was honored with the prestigious 2024 Agila Award, conferred by the Bureau of Treasury in recognition of its exceptional leadership, operational efficiency, and outstanding service delivery.

The award was presented during a formal ceremony held on December 6, 2024, at the Training Center of the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), Bicol Regional Government Center, Rawis, Legazpi City, marking an important milestone for the university in its efforts toward academic and operational excellence.


Under the visionary leadership of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, the Sorsogon State University excelled in academic performance and showed strong leadership, efficient management, and a culture of accountability and transparency.


Mr. Gerald E. Fulay, JD (Vice President for Administration and Finance), and Ms. Marie Susan D. Caudilla (AOV/Cashier III) accepted the award on behalf of the university. As the recipient of the 2024 Agila Award, the Pamantasang May Puso reaffirms its commitment to upholding the standard of excellence and efficiency as it continues to serve the SorSU community.


Notably, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) and Catanduanes State University (CatSU) were the only State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) from the Bicol Region to receive the prestigious Agila Awards, standing out among 400 stakeholders from various sectors.


The Agila Award is an annual recognition from the Bureau of the Treasury honoring public institutions for their exemplary leadership and efficiency in fulfilling their mandates. (SorSU PIO)
