SorSU Recognizes Student Achievements at 2025 Recognition Day

Sorsogon State University (SorSU) celebrated the achievements of its students during the 2025 Recognition Day held at SorSU Audio Visual Hall, Sorsogon City Campus on June 20, 2025. The event honored individuals from the College of Teacher Education, College of Business and Management, College of Engineering and Architecture, College of Technology, and College of Health and Science who demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, service, technological skills, sports, and the arts.

With the theme “Recognizing Excellence: Life Champions, Future-Ready SorSUenos,” the program began with a prayer led by Donna Faye D. Brioso (Academic Excellence Awardee), followed by a welcome message from Dr. Telesforo D. Escoto (Campus Director, Sorsogon City Campus). Prof. Maria Gina J. Mendones (Head, Student Council Affairs Unit) introduced the Guest Speaker, Mrs. Donna Lyn M. Geronimo, LPT (2024 Dangal ng Bayan Awardee), who delivered an inspiring message that underscored the importance of excellence and preparedness in today’s evolving world.


Students were recognized in various categories, including Academic Excellence, Technical Proficiency, and Sports Achievements. Additional awards were given for Leadership, Service, Culture, and the Arts. The celebration also included special performances by SorSU Dance Theater and Cultural Group, TAC-SaKaTe, and Instrumentos de Cordo, showing the university’s support for artistic expression.


John Paul V. Benitez (Academic Excellence Awardee), speaking on behalf of the awardees, delivered words of gratitude, acknowledging the support of mentors, families, and the SorSU community. The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Kristopher A. Hiloma (SDS Coordinator), followed by the singing of the university hymn led by Bryan Manuel M. Leoncito.


Recognition Day 2025 honored the hard work and dedication of SorSU students, reaffirming the university’s commitment to academic integrity, growth, and future readiness. (SorSU PIO)
