On November 14, 2025, Sorsogon State University (SorSU) strengthened its engagement in local governance initiatives after formally entering into a partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 5 through the Bicol Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Council (MSAC).
The collaboration was sealed during a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held at The Oriental Legazpi, Legazpi City, Albay.
Mr. Gerald E. Fulay, JD (Vice President for Administration and Finance), represented Sorsogon State University during the ceremonial signing, standing in for SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus.
By becoming an MSAC partner, SorSU commits to supporting DILG’s efforts to strengthen local governance across the Bicol region. This partnership deepens SorSU’s role in advancing effective governance and driving community development.
The agreement also opens opportunities for collaborative initiatives focused on innovation, capacity building, and knowledge sharing among local government units and partner institutions. (SorSU PIO)
