After a rigorous two-day on-site audit, Sorsogon State University (SorSU), under the leadership of SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, together with the University top executives and officials, successfully passed the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Recertification Audit conducted by the National Quality Assurance of the Philippines, Inc. (NQA), from February 12-13, 2024.
During the closing meeting, Lead Auditor Mr. Ranilo “Rannie” L. Bernardino (NQA CEO/General Manager) presented the audit findings, wherein SorSU recorded ten (10) laudable areas/points, including the commendable commitment of top management and personnel in implementing and maintaining QMS; Use of faculty portfolio with complete details of the faculty from portfolio, syllabus, rubrics, exams, and grade sheets; 100% achievement of OPCR/Quality Objectives for Year 2023; Comprehensive reporting and conduct of internal audit; Good results of Customer Satisfaction of the University; and Continual Improvements were evident by the awards and recognition received by the University, among others. Further, Mr. Bernardino also discussed the Opportunities For Improvement (OFI) of the institution, with only two (2) minor nonconformity (NCs) and no major nonconformity. With this successful assessment, the Sorsogon State University (SorSU) is recommended with the latest ISO 9001:2015 Certification.
In response, SUC President III, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, on behalf of SorSU, conveyed her profound gratitude and appreciation to the four auditors led by Mr. Bernardino and, at the same time, proudly acknowledged the diligence, hard work, and team efforts of all SorSU officials and personnel integral in the success of the Recertification Audit.
Relatively, the University received its first ISO 9001:2015 Certificate last 2017. SorSU, having been recommended with the latest certification, attests and exemplifies its enduring commitment to maintaining continual improvement and conformance to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 Standards.
