UGNAYANG EKSTENSYON: Empowerment Seminar for Student Extensionists

December 11-13, 2024, students enrolled in various courses in the College of Agriculture, currently taking the Agricultural Extension and Communication and Sustainable Rural Development subjects participated in a three-day empowerment seminar.

Mrs. Nida Hagos-Garcia, Planning Officer II at the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), shared her insights on the evolving landscape of extension work in the 21st century, as well as the qualities of an effective extension worker.


Ms. Charlene Freeman, a Teacher and Agriculturist from the Planning and Development of DA-ATI, facilitated the Day 1.


The seminar was organized by Mr. Al M. Alcantara, Dr. Cristy Jintalan, and Ms. Marinel B. Locaba, subject instructors in Agriculture and Extension. The event emphasized the importance of training and shaping young minds for transformational leadership and translating research innovations through extension services in the field of agriculture.
