UP and SorSU administer UPCAT to 700 examinees

To promote wider access to its admission process, the University of the Philippines (UP), in partnership with Sorsogon State University (SorSU), successfully administered the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) from August 2–3, 2025, at Sorsogon State University.

UPCAT officials Ms. Erika Diwata M. Jacinto (UP Fine Arts–Baguio) and Ms. Jimda G. Alicante (UP College of Home Economics–Diliman) led the orientation and briefing of SorSU personnel and oversaw the administration of the exam. Their presence ensured the smooth and standardized conduct of the UPCAT at the local level.

The local administration of the UPCAT, as organized by UPCAT Local Coordinator, Dr. Abner L. Dellosa (Head, SorSU Human Resource Management and Development Office), and the SorSU Guidance and Counselling Services Unit, aimed to make the exam more accessible to students in Sorsogon province.

A total of 700 Grade 11 students from various schools across the province, who are expected to graduate from senior high school at the end of Academic Year 2025–2026, took part in the two-day examination.
